Internet Frauds- Steps to be taken to avoid the menace

To avoid Internet Frauds, please remember the following:

    1.    Login to net banking by typing the website address in the address bar.  Not clicking on any link received from email. This will avoid phishing attack.

    2.    Ensure that you are logging into the bank's secured site.  Check the padlock that appears next to the website address.

    3.    Keep Changing net banking passwords frequently.

    4.    Do not share your passwords, activation codes, OTP(one time password) etc with anybody.

    5.    Keep changing passwords of your registered email ID and do not share that password also.

    6.    In case of corporates, ensure that the net banking passwords of maker and checker are not held by single person in the company.  The very purpose of maker checker concept will be defeated.

    7.    Ensure that the userIDs of retired, resigned officials are disabled in the net banking.

    8.    In case of fraud, report to the branch of your bank immediately and ensure that the account is freezed.  Ensure that credit branch/bank is informed about the fraud by email.

Please make awareness among your staff, friends & colleagues  about the consequences of sharing net banking passwords.

Ensure above simple & basic steps are being taken without fail. Else, there will be no surprise, if One's hard earned money disappeared from his/her bank account all of a sudden. There will be no surprise if a hacker from America steal the money from a bank account in India just by sitting before a computer.
